The heart of the home Published on November 22, 2016

Many clients come to us wanting a timber frame added to their conventionally built house. (See examples here.) But the clients whose frame is pictured were building their whole house at once; they wanted to start construction with a timber frame great room at the core of the house rather than as an addition.

A building that combines timber framing and conventional construction is called a “hybrid.” By now these clients are calling theirs “home.”
