Hardwick Post & Beam has its roots deep in American History, our founder started the company after working on the timber frames in Old Sturbridge Village and being inspired to keep this classic craft alive. So being able to work with Plimoth Patuxet Museum to help them reconstruct a historic replica home in their living museum came quite naturally to us.
After the team at the museum prepared the site, we came in and had a wonderful time putting up this structure, with a little bit of equipment, but mainly by hand. Once fully installed the building has slowly gotten its finishing touches as the pilgrims in the exhibit dawn their traditional garb and tools so they can show the visitors how the work would have been done back in the 17th century.
