It was a treat to get to revisit a fun project and take some pictures after its really started to embrace its use. For us, projects that are used by the many always resonate deeply with us.
Gathering spaces are so crucial to building community and we feel that is only enhanced when it can be done in a space that was truly crafted with care and intention. When Keiter reached out to us with this project the initial intent was to build a steel frame, but they knew we would be able to get the client a structure that was a bit more unique and at a competitive price point. With this goal in mind we designed this pavilion.
The goal was to cover a certain amount of floor space within an established budget. This is what drove us to create large spans using douglas fir glulams, heavy duty custom post bases and large angled posts. The cherry on top was getting to use some of the locust trees they cut down on the property as corner posts for this new space.
Through and through, it was a project we enjoyed and one we are thrilled to have as part of the Pioneer Valley community.
