back next Located in a country setting, this 3,800 sq. ft. handcrafted reproduction timber frame salt box features the energy efficiency of new construction. Stress skin panels on the outside walls and roof completely envelop the oak frame, resulting in a tight structure that is economical to heat.

Some of the traditional features include 18" to 24" wide pine flooring, beaded edge interior molding, and exposed oak timbers. The wall corner windbraces are joined with traditional mortises, tenons and dovetail joints with oak wood pegs. A large brick fireplace has a correct period granite lentil.

The foyer is red oak, and the 22 x 19 kitchen has an 18' high cathedral ceiling. A floor to ceiling Palladian-style window is accented with an arched hammer beam construction. There are five bedrooms.

Windows and doors have a period eye brow, and the corner boards are all 12" wide on the building's corners. There is a 5' x 22' farmer's porch, just off the kitchen facing the herb garden. The five acres are extensively landscaped with stone walls, trees and shrubs, brick sidewalks, and granite stairs and steps.
